TWO CONCERTS IN CITY HALL CORK. MAY 10th & 11th 2014
West End Legend Michael Ball starred with the orchestra for two Concerts . He presented stunnungly captivating and showstopping nights of pure entertainment in his "A Night At The Movies" shows. These were such special events. The concerts were on Sat 10th and Sun 11th of May. in City Hall Cork.
The Cork Youth Orchestra presented a lavish and high calibre performance in their own movie themes. They excelled in their accompaniment of Michael Ball. Just imagine the raw energy of 142 young and very talented musicians combined with the majestic voice of Michael Ball..........Memories are made on nights like this

James Galway's appearance with CYO was a highlight
Legendary Sir James Galway
Harking back to where it all began......
The idea that the Cork Youth Orchestra would contemplate performing with a mega star...... Sir James Galway.....
It all began when Martin Barrett (Cork City Capital of Culture 2005) put the idea to our muscial director, Tomas.... Martin made the phone call to Sir James in Switzerland.... explained who CYO were... handed the phone to Tomas.... and we were off....
Next stop, CYO with Sir James Galway and Lady Jeannie Galway...

West End Comes To Cork, Christmas Festival
Sofia Escobar and Mike Sterling rejoined the CYO for two special concerts, including the live screening of The Snowman.
Following on from our sold out May concerts, we were delighted to have Sofia Escobar (Christine on the West End) and Mike Sterling (portrayed the Phantom on the West End and Broadway, over 1,000 shows) rejoin us for two more preformances.Standing ovations on both nights. Venue: City Hall Cork Dates: 14th & 15th Dec 2013
